Emmanuel Kabengele

Emmanuel Kabengele Mpinga is a Professor at the Institute of Global Health (IGH) at the University of Geneva. He holds a Doctorate in Health systems Policies, a Masters of Public Health, a Master of Administration and management of health institutions, two specialised certificates, and a Diploma in human rights.
Professor Kabengele has been teaching and conducting research in the field of health and human rights in Geneva since 2002. His research interests and teaching are connected to epistemology of the links between public health and human rights, threats to these rights in health systems, the right to health indicators, and training needs for health professionals as a prevention strategy. He is also interested in health politics, access to health care, and conflicts related to end of life. He participates in numerous graduate and postgraduate programs in Switzerland and abroad, and has held a number of mandates as an expert in human rights and public health for the United Nations Department of Political Affairs, governmental and intergovernmental agencies, as well as NGOs. From 2008 to 2012 he had an Swiss School Public Health + assistant professorship in health and human rights in Geneva.
