Over the past couple of years, developmental neuroscience has shifted from an essentially descriptive discipline to a more interventional one, in which select developmental events can be reverse-engineered in vitro.

Building on these recent advances and focusing on the neocortex, the Reverse Engineering the Developing Brain (REDBrain) Meeting will bring together researchers in brain development, tissue engineering, bioinformatics and cellular reprogramming to discuss the exciting new developments of this emerging field.

The conference will take place at the new Campus Biotech in Geneva, Switzerland. The building is conveniently located within walking distance of the historic center of the city, on the right bank of Lake Geneva, and only 15 minutes from the airport.

We are thankful to Fluidigm, our main sponsor, as well as to the Synapsy consortium for supporting this meeting and allowing us to bring together such distinguished invited speakers. Additional oral presentations will be selected from the abstract submissions.

Students and post-docs are invited to apply for travel awards through the generous support of the International Society for Developmental Neuroscience (ISDN).

We look forward to welcoming you soon in Geneva.

Denis Jabaudon and Alexandre Dayer
