The Health 2030 Genome Center is looking to fill a position of DevOps Engineer Intern in the Data Analytics and Interpretation Platform  (DAIP) of the Health 2030 Genome Center. The position will suit a self-motivated individual who enjoys being part of a team with daily interactions with Genome Center staff. The successful candidate will work in a rewarding environment at the frontiers of genomics. 

Description du poste

For the accreditation of the whole infrastructure and data management, the Genome Center needs a solution for easy auditing and traceability. The chosen solution is to deploy a vast majority of services with infrastructure-as-code tools (terraform, services on kubernetes, …), with the configuration and deployment stored, tracked, and signed on Gitlab. In this large project the intern will work closely with the Head of IT on the following tasks: 

  • Evaluating the available technology and designing the solution. 
  • Deploying and configuring KVM, terraform, and/or a kubernetes cluster. 
  • Migrating a few services from the current infrastructure to the newly created infrastructure. 
  • Performing other additional project related tasks.

Profil requis

Required: 

  • The candidate should be engaged in a computer science university curriculum at Master level 
  • Docker 
  • Git 
  • Linux (shell commands, package installation, mostly on CentOS, but any distribution is fine) 
  • Fluency in English.  

Desirable: 

 The following skills are desirable but can be acquired during the internship.

  • Gitlab (CI/CD) 
  • KVM (or another virtualization tool like VMware) 
  • Advanced Linux (SELinux, systemd, …)

  • Paid internship (must be a mandatory part of the candidate’s studies/stage conventionné) 
  • Starting date: February, 2022
  • Activity rate: 100% with the possibility of part-time remote work (to be defined) 
  • Duration: 6 months
