The successful candidate will research, develop and implement 3D spatial transcriptomic technologies and analysis methods in large tissue volumes. Working collaboratively with Wyss Center staff, university faculty and clinicians the successful candidate will aim to accelerate the translation of such approaches to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for the treatment of glioblastoma.

More specifically, the successful candidate will:

  • Establish and implement methodologies and/or analyses approaches required for in situ single-cell spatial transcriptomics of large tissue volumes 
  • Optimize existing technologies for the demands of the project and build a robust in-house pipeline for spatial transcriptomics
  • Collaborate closely with team members working on biological, imaging and computational aspects of the project toward understanding how the 3D transcriptome reflects clinical and molecular phenotypes
  • Interface with project team members and assist in the preparation of progress reports, research summaries, and publications

Profil requis


  • PhD in Biology, Chemistry, Bioengineering, Neurobiology, or related field 
  • Strong background in cellular and molecular biology with a focus on RNA sequencing
  • Bioinformatics and image analysis experience a plus 
  • Previous experience in either 2D or 3D transcriptomics
  • Experience with tissue processing, in situ biochemistry, immunofluorescence, and microscopy.  Knowledge of hydrogel chemistry and tissue clearing is a plus
  • Familiarity with spatial transcriptomics techniques such as In Situ Sequencing (ISS), STARMap, FISSEQ, MERFISH, SeqFISH, Slide-Seq, etc.
  • Fluent in English, French is a plus
